Hey there listeners! In this very personal episode, we interview Carolyn Cline, who has been gracious enough to share her story/struggle with mental health. By sharing this with you, the listener, we hope to dispel some myths and assumptions about depression and bipolar disorder, as well as provide those of you out there that may be struggling with it (which is a lot of people) a platform to relate to. This episode is just one person's story, and we do not presume to tell anyone what their own situation is like. Scroll down past the episode link to see a personal message from Carolyn in which she encourages any listener to reach out, no matter their situation.
Topics include: being raised in a religious household, accepting therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, The Hilarious World of Depression podcast, switching meds, Spice (Frank Herbert's Dune), Prozac Nation, medication in the water supply, Wherever You Go There You Are (book)

"I realized afterwards, my experience relies heavily on the fact I have a large support group. However, I know that is not often the case. Please, please, PLEASE, if you need someone/anyone to talk to (sometimes it's easier to talk to a stranger even), contact me through my email: Carolynalanecline@gmail.com
Also, I unfortunately didn't convey the high amount of self-hatred and disgust that accompanies depression. This is something that should not be taken lightly. Please make sure your friends or those that suffer can feel your love. Tell them, show them. They believe their presence is undesired, and it is hard to convince them otherwise. But, please try. It takes a lot of patience and willingness to love and support those with a mental illness, but to those who do, you are the largest unsung heroes. Thank you"

We also mention Prozac in the drinking water. Doesn't look like there's too much evidence of this in America, however our friends over in UK have some evidence of such: https://www.theguardian.com/society/2004/aug/08/health.mentalhealth
What is this Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that Carolyn mentions helped her? Check it out...

And finally... you've heard us talk about it in at least 3 episodes now..... THE SPICE
